In many pharmaceutical production processes, it is desirable to sterilize filters and filter housings inline. Often, the sterilization method, in addition to the production process, is also validated. The problem with standard polypropylene (PP) filter capsules is that they cannot be sterilized via steaming in place (SIP). Standard stainless steel filter housings must be completely cleaned before SIP can be performed. The solution? The BorsoCap-SIP! Made from polyetherimide, with a hydrophobic PTFE filter element, the BorsoCap-SIP is suitable for undergoing SIP in situ and for integrity testing.
