Simplex strainer
Description
A simplex strainer can be mounted directly between the piping and has a strainer basket in the filter housing. Simplex basket strainers are often used to protect pumps or to remove unwanted particles from a liquid or gas stream. The basket of a simplex strainer is made of perforated plate and can be lined with metal mesh to a fineness of 25 microns if desired. A simplex strainer is available in many different fineness ratings, materials, pressure classes, and dimensions, which allows simplex strainers to be used in many different sectors. This makes this type of strainer one of the most commonly used strainers.
