A T strainer is a strainer which is made in a ''T'' shape and uses a sieve basket. The baskets are usually made of perforated plate and can be covered with a filter gauze up to a fineness of 25micron.  A T strainer can be mounted directly between the pipe work and, as indicated earlier, have a sieve basket in the filter housing. A T strainer can be used for a wide range of applications and functions both as a vacuum filter to protect pumps or to remove unwanted particles from a liquid or gas stream. T strainers can be used in a wide range of industries, making it one of the most widely used strainers. T strainers are available with a single filter basket.
